Frankfurt Airport

Firstly, an apology for the various print fonts that seem to have been appearing on this blog! For some technical reason that I do not understand, they appear different when viewed either on an Ipad or a laptop…hopefully this will be readable on any device.

I write this en route from Florida to Jordan; I am getting towards the end of a six hour layover in Frankfurt, Germany and will be baording a plane to Amman, Jordan in a couple of hours to join the 'Rotterdam'. A week on there, and then a week on the 'Prinsendam'…which will be particularly enjoyable as Vickie will be joining me. I have just enjoyed a contract on the beautiful Silversea ship 'Silver Spirit'´- although was feeling pretty lousy for much of the trip with a throat infection – which seems to be very prevalent at the moment.

It's been quite a few weeks for the British Jazz scene, firstly with Kenny Ball dying and then, seemingly only a few days later the passing of Terry Lightfoot. I am sad I was not able to attend Kenny's funeral – and nor will I be able to attend Terry's. I raised a glass to Ken…and I shall do the same for Terry on the day.

Maybe time for one more glass of wine…and then to the gate! I am ready to be home for a few weeks!

Happy Listening!
